Sorry to leave the Sept Meeting so early, but...

Bill Maloney did a great job last month answering all of our questions concerning Aircraft Insurance, don't you think??  Personally I feel bad that I couldn't stay for the full duration of the meeting.  I would have like to have heard more about the background of the aviation insurance issues.

I believe that you are in good hands when you take a policy out with Bill because he really takes the time to go over the intricacies of your policy with you.  I have been with him since 2000, and always get accurate answers to all my questions in a timely manner, most of the time right in his office at the airport.  My rates seem reasonable too, because he shops out all 8 Insurance markets for the best coverage and rates.

I now have to confess.. the reason I left early was because I  had to take my IFR check ride with Gail LaPook the following morning, and I needed all the beauty sleep I could muster... the result was I finally  passed the darned thing!  Not perfect and certainly not pretty, but within the Practical Test Standards!

So,...if you're in the air when it's a little cloudy, you might just want to give Cherokee N1226T a little extra room in the pattern and please forgive me for leaving the party a little on the early side.

While Dennis was conducting business, Daren and I were cookin up the Chili in the kitchen.  Can you believe that there is NO GAS STOVE in there?  Some quick thinking yielded an Coleman camping stove that worked perfectly once we figured out how to keep the fire going.  I really thought the Fire alarms were going to go off any moment and bring in the fire depatment.  After all we did have Dennis's 20 alarm chili in the pot.  Helping out can be very gratifying when preparing a food item for a hungry bunch of pilots.

We should thank Dennis and Tim Coltrin for the Chili the both made and brought in at the last meeting.  They both went  out of their way to give us something really unique.

I had a hard time telling which batch was better.  What did you think?  I'm sure we could have used a little more Chili, because I saw members coming back for seconds after it all ran out.  We figure there was about 3 gallons total, and it was gone in no time.  Next time I think I'll get a little closer to the front of the line and slurp up some of that excellent stuff and get back before it runs out.  Really, I think this could be a great event that we can put on every year.
